She yawned as she walked out of kitchen. The coffee in the cup she was holding sloshed over onto her hand. OW! She quickly changed hands and shook out her burnt hand. Why had she agreed to house sit this absolutely HUGE house? Because, she reminded herself, you thought that it would be cool to stay in a big house all by yourself. So now she was having weird dreams and could not sleep. Last night she saw a bear standing at the foot of her bed. She shook her head. Yup. She was definitely losing it. There was a huge winding staircase to the second floor. An ornately carved door led to the longest hallway ever. When she first saw the hallway she thought it was magical. Now she thought it was creepy, but it was the only way back to her bedroom. She opened the door...and why was there a door to the hallway? She was not in a good mood. The hallway was lined with windows to the left. It was a windy day and as she walked in, the white chiffon drapes flew up and covered her face. She batted the drapes aside and then saw the bear. Her first thought was, "It's you."

Painting Process
I was never the same after seeing Jean Cocteau's 1946 Beauty and the Beast. I loved the scene when Belle was walking or seemingly floating down the long hallway with the white drapes blowing around her. That was wonderful. So I decided to paint a "curtain" series which was short lived. lol. Its a little hairy painting the curtain because you have to paint it after you paint everything else. You pretty much have only one chance to get it right. If it dries and you don't like it - like this other much larger painting I did -- you have to repaint everything under it. That other painting remains unfinished because I had to repaint everything and now I'm afraid to paint the curtain over it. It's silly I know.
This curtain on this painting however, turned out great. I wish I had done this larger because I think its a good painting. The original is 8 3/4" x 6 3/4", so I'm glad I can offer prints in larger sizes. (The original painting is available)
****Framed work does not include glass or plexiglass. Framed prints come with an acrylic face - looks like a thin clear sheet. Matted prints also come with this acrylic face. It looks good though and the art prints are really very nice. Looks almost like an original! I was impressed!
