This was the problem. This was...what in the world were those sounds?! ! I put my hands over my ears. It was coming from Ten Twenty-five. That's where the meeting was.
A car passed by and I watched a piece of paper slowly float down to the street.

Painting Process
This was my second bear painting. At the time, I felt successful in combining a cartoon style with a certain amount of realism. The bear was a lurking presence of possible danger or misdoing. It was the first time I tried painting a car or at least, my interpretation of one. It was a '59 Ford Thunderbird. I loved the fins on those old cars.
This painting is much more colorful than my later ones. I was into using a china marker to outline the elements. I'd draw the bear or car carefully in pencil and then I'd get the china marker and very very quickly trace over, using different pressures and angles to create uneven lines in different widths. It was the fun part. I'd have to get myself revved up, to let go though. I also used color pencils to fill in tiny areas that I missed with the paintbrush, with bright sometimes fluorescent colors.
Theres a torn piece of paper blowing with the wind on the street. Written on it is a line from a book? It's like a campy scene from perhaps an old Film Noir movie.
10-25 is my birthday.
****Framed work does not include glass or plexiglass. Framed prints come with an acrylic face - looks like a thin clear sheet. Matted prints also come with this acrylic face. It looks good though and the art prints are really very nice. Looks almost like an original! I was impressed!
