In my dream, I was walking down a road. It was nighttime and there was a full moon. I remember mist swirling around, like in a horror movie – except it didn’t feel scary at all.

How did it feel?

It felt…magical. I could see lights at the end of road. As I walked closer, I saw it was a vending machine and besides it, was a duck.

A duck? I thought you said it was a puppy?

When did I ever say it was a puppy?? It was a duck. A DUCK.

Okay okay…a duck

The duck looked at me and I immediately felt a psychic presence. It was like a pressure. I stared back at the duck and in my mind, I distinctly heard the word “avocado”

Whoa. What do you make of that?

I don’t know. But I’m sure the duck was trying to tell me something important.

About avocados?

No, about life, existence and the concept of reality.

They both nodded their heads.

Painting Process

So this was the second painting I did quickly as part of the Painting a Day exercise. I had painted just the vending machine in the rather bleak background. I called it "Moon Landing" Like the previous painting "Bob's", it was fun to re work it and add elements. I really did consider my daughter's suggestion of a hand coming out from underneath the pile of rubble. Lol But I didn't want to have the impression that the bear had anything to do with that. I don't know where the idea of a duck came from but when it popped into my head, I knew it was the perfect touch to the feeling of the composition. The shadowed image of the bear is supposed to be coming out of, or maybe going into the mist in the tunnel -like structure . I'm not sure if it looks like mist though. (My husband says it did not look like mist)

It was great to just be funny. I always think my art is on the poignant, mysterious side but a lot of people think its just darn funny. Lol And hey, theres nothing wrong with that, as long as they like it. Anyway so my point is, maybe those people won't notice that now I'm consciously being funny. Lol

**Framed work does not include glass or plexiglass. Framed prints come with an acrylic face - looks like a thin clear sheet. It looks good though and the art prints are really very nice. Looks almost like an original! I was impressed!
